The last will and testament of Samuel Hess being of sound and disposing mind. It is my will and desire first that all my just debts be paid and that all my personal property be sold, and after paying my just debts that the balance if any is to be divided equally between my wife Sally and my children __?__, Isaac Brookfield, Polly, Joseph, Tabitha and Nancy Hess, and further it is my will and desire that my farm that I now reside upon and my mills upon the same be rented out every year to some good and suitable person or persons and that the rent and profits of them be equally divided between my said wife and children above named. It is my will that my wife Sally and my said children above mentioned are to have my farm and all the land I own equally divided between them, and it is my will and desire that my children Betsy, John, James, Riley and Solomon Hess have each one dollar only, as I have heretofore given them what I consider an equal part of my estate. This will is made in the last sickness of the said Samuel Hess, and that William C. Tate, Martin Panter and Solomon Hess was called upon to bare witness to this my will and have the same reduced to writing the first opportunity and __?__ that the same proven and recorded and __?__ into effect.
