Sarah "Sallie" Horton was born about 1834, in Tennessee, the daughter of James William Horton and Cynthia Atkinson.
Sallie married Alvin Green Ayers, son of William Ayers and Elizabeth (last name unknown).
Sallie and Green had at least four children. Sallie died at a young age. Green then married Mary Cagle. They had at least six children: John, Charlie, Eldred, LeRoy, Matthew and Polly Ann Ayers.
