Sarah C. Beckham was born about 1859, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of Green Berry Beckham, Jr. and Rebecca Weatherford.
The Beckham family moved to Jefferson County, Illinois between 1860 and 1862.
Sarah married Alexander Pasley on January 28, 1877, in Jefferson County. Alexander Pasley was born about 1857, in Illinois, the son of Henderson Pasley and Arminda (last name unknown).
Sarah and Alexander had but a short time together. Sarah died September 14, 1878, in Jefferson County, Illinois and is buried in South Hickory Hills Cemetery in Jefferson County.
The 1880 Jefferson County census, McClellan Township, shows Alexander living back at home with his parents and siblings. The census shows Henderson Pasley, 43, a farmer, born in Tennessee; Arminda, wife, 43, born in Illinois; Alexander, son, widowed, 23, born in Illinois, a farm worker; Florence, daughter, 21, born in Illinois; Everett, son, 17, born in Illinois; Cora, daughter, 14, born in Illinois, Eddy, daughter, 12, born in Illinois; George, son, 9, born in Illinois; and Benjamin, son, 6, born in Illinois.
