Schuyler S. Willis was born March 7, 1882, in Arkansas, the son of James Willis and Amy Harmon.
Schuyler, age 19, appears on the 1900 Indian Territory census with his family.
The 1904-1905 city directory for Alderson, in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, shows Schuyler working as a driver for his father, who owned and operated a livery at Alderson. Schuyler was shown to be living at home.
Schuyler married Della (last name unknown) prior to 1910. The 1914-1915 city directory for Krebs, Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, shows Schuyler and Della operating a livery on Maple Street in Krebs, and living at that address. The 1916-1917 city directory for Krebs shows Schuyler and his brother Roscoe owning and operating a "Willis Livery" on Maple Street in Krebs. They are shown to be living at home with their parents. Della is not listed on the 1916-1917 city directory. We believe they either divorced or Della died.
The 1920 city directory for Krebs shows Schuyler operating a restaurant on Main Street in Krebs, and still living at home with his parents.
Apparently Schuyler married Pearl (last name unknown) prior to 1925. The 1925 city directory for McAlester, Oklahoma shows Schuyler and wife Pearl residing at 20 West Apache Avenue. (It is possible that Della and Pearl are the same person.) Schuyler is shown to be working as a salesman for his brother Roscoe's business, Willis Auto Supply Company, located at 119 South Main Street in McAlester.
Schuyler died June 27, 1927, at McAlester and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery at McAlester, with other family members. Schuyler apparently had no children.
