Sarah Elizabeth McClure was born November 1, 1859, in Van Buren County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Valentine McClure and Mary Scarlett.
Sarah married George Washington Crone on January 28, 1875, in Faulkner County, Arkansas. George Crone was born December 10, 1849, in Alabama. George was the son of George Crone (b. 1810 SC; d. 1860-1870, Van Buren Co, AR) and Nancy Goodman (b. 1815, VA).
George Washington and Sarah moved their family to Texas between about 1876 and 1878. They settled in Bell County.
George Crone died March 7, 1896, in Texas.
The 1900 Bell County, Texas census, Precinct No. 4, shows Sarah E. Crone, head, 40, born November 1859, in Arkansas, widowed, had given birth to 9 children, 6 children were still living; Lee E., son, 16, born December 1883, in Texas; Stella, daughter, 13, born August 1886, in Texas; Ernest, son, 11, born October 1888, in Texas; William L., son, 9, born June 1890, in Texas; Louie, son, 6, born February 1894, in Texas; Ida C. Nelson, daughter, 21, born October 1878, in Texas, widowed, had given birth to 1 child, 1 child still living; and Emma C. Nelson, granddaughter, 2, born November 1897, in Texas.
Sarah died March 12, 1943.
