Sarah E. Stanfield was born February 3, 1868, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of John A. Stanfield and Elizabeth Jane Copeland.
Sarah married Joseph D. Polk on January 8, 1885, in Hardin County, Tennessee. Joseph Polk was born in 1866.
Sarah died February 8, 1891 and is buried in New Harmony Cemetery, in Hardin County. Joseph died in 1918.
