Sina Crow was born about 1835, in Guilford County, North Carolina, the daughter of James Crow and Diana McClanahan.
Sina appears on the 1840 Guilford County census as a female under the age of 5 years. The 1850 Guilford County census shows Sina, age 14, with her father and brother William.
Sina is named in her father's will in 1859, to receive 150 acres of land, slaves, a mare, a cow and calf, a feather bed, furniture, cotton wheel, a set of knives and forks, plates, cups and saucers, plus one years support or provision, or the equivalent in money, and a share of the money derived from the sale of any items not disposed of in the will.
Sina was still single in 1859, as she is called Sina Crow in her father's will.
