Malissa married James "Jim" Bryant Hollie (Holley, Holly). Jim Bryant Hollie was born about 1844, in North Carolina, according to census records.
Jim and Malissa appear on the 1880 Sharp County, Arkansas, census living in Cave Township, near Cave City. Living with them were Mary E. Holley, age 40, single, born in North Carolina; Jenettie Holley, sister, age 35, born in North Carolina; Elizabeth M. Holley, sister, age 33, born in North Carolina; Delitha Holley, sister, age 30, born in North Carolina; Rebecca L. Holley, sister, age 28, born in North Carolina; and Lorenza D. Holley, brother, age 6, born in North Carolina. We feel there is a mistake on the census, as we feel it unlikely that there would be that much age difference in the siblings. We assume these are Jim's sisters.
