Sarah Jane Crow was born September 23, 1887, at Cave City, in Independence County, Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" Crow and Arena "Renie" Green.
Sarah Jane's family moved to near Scotland, in Van Buren County, Arkansas, between 1893 and 1898.
Sarah Jane married John Dolphus Lentz in 1911, in Van Buren County. Dolphus Lentz was born October 20, 1890, in Arkansas.
The 1920 Van Buren County census, Craig Township, shows Dolphus Lentz, 28, a farmer who rented; Sarah, wife, 32; Elster, son, 7; Kelsey, son, 5; Aaron, son, 2 years, 3 months; and Loranie, daughter, 8 months old.
The 1930 Van Buren County census, Craig Township, shows John D. Lentz, 41, rented his farm; Sarah J., 44; Celster L., 17, a farm laborer; Droy K., 15; William A., 12; Lorena, 10; Lida L., 7; Altha F., 5; and Charles J., 2 years old. Living nearby were Sarah's parents and other family members.
John died September 2, 1931, near Scotland, in Van Buren County. Sarah Jane died there on June 8, 1943. They are buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Scotland.
