Simeon married Sarah Elizabeth Dunahoe (or Dunahue) on July 12, 1862, in Louisa County, Iowa. Sarah Dunahoe was born about 1846 in Iowa, the daughter of John Dunahoe and Jane (last name unknown).
The 1850 Louisa County, Iowa census shows John Dunnhoo, 27, farmer, $240 personal property, VA; Jane, 25, OH; Sarah E., 4, IA; Watson D., 2, IA and Jesse E., 5 months, IA.
It appears John, Jane and baby Jesse Dunahoe all died between 1850 and 1860.
The 1860 Louisa County census shows Sarah Dunahoe, 15 and Watson Dunahoe, 12, living with the family of Barton and Martha Jones.
Simeon and Sarah appear on the 1870 Louisa County census in Elm Grove Township. The census shows Simeon, 39, a farmer; Sarah, 24; Charles, 6; Simeon, 5; William, 3 and Margaret, 1 year old. Living with them was Theodosia Gordy, age 12, born in Iowa. Simeon's real property was valued at $2500 and his personal property at $833. Living nearby was his brother Jacob Maiden, 22, a farmer, born in Illinois and his wife, Emma, 19, born in Pennsylvania. Jacob's real property was valued at $2400 and his personal property at $416.
Sarah died June 30, 1873, probably in Louisa County, Iowa. She is buried in Spring Run Cemetery, in Louisa County.
Simeon married Caroline B. (last name unknown) in late 1873 or early 1874. Census indicates Caroline was born about 1851, in Ohio.
Simeon moved his family to Kansas around 1876. Several of Simeon's siblings moved to Kansas about the same time.
The 1880 Sedgwick County, Kansas census shows S. B. Maiden, 49, born in Virginia; Caroline B., wife, 29, born in Ohio; Charles E., son, 16, born in Iowa; S. B., son, 15, born in Iowa; William, son, 13, born in Iowa; Margaret J., daughter, 11, born in Iowa; Annie A., daughter, 6, born in Iowa; Mary D., daughter, 3, born in Kansas and Joseph, son, 1 month, born in Kansas.
The 1900 Butler County, Kansas census, Richland Township, shows Simeon, 69, born September 1830, living with his brother Jacob and family. Simeon was listed as widowed. Living nearby was another brother, William Maiden, who was also widowed.
Simeon died in 1913.
