Thomas Benton David was born January 28, 1843, in Jacksboro, in Campbell County, Tennessee. He was the son of Sampson David and Mary Brown Bridgman.
Thomas married Prudence Magnolia "Prudy" Whittenburg on September 13, 1868, in Washington County, Arkansas. Prudy was born 1848, in Tennessee, the daughter of Henry G. W. Whittenburg (b. Feb 1819, TN; d. 1901, Washington Co, AR) and Eliza Brownlow (b. 1821).
The 1870 Washington County, Arkansas, Cane Hill Township census shows T. B. David, 27, farmer, $800 real property, $250 personal property; Prudy, 22 and W. J., 8 months, male.
Thomas and Prudy remained in Washington County. The 1900 Washington County census shows Prudy's father, Henry Whittenburg, 81, born February 1819, Tennessee, widowed, living with the family.
Thomas died 1901 in Washington County. Prudy died May 30, 1925.
