Thomas Fredrick Franks was born March 10, 1859, in Tennessee, the son of Frederick Marion Franks and Harriet Emeline Robbins.
Thomas married Sarah Elizabeth Martin. Sarah Martin was born July 15, 1861, the daughter of Henry C. Martin and Mary Jane (last name unknown).
Thomas and Sarah settled in Hardin County, Tennessee, where their first child was born. About 1883-1884, Thomas moved his family to Lauderdale County, Alabama.
Thomas died July 2, 1927, in Lauderdale County. Sarah died there on February 28, 1929. They are buried in Parkers Cemetery on Panther Creek, in Lauderdale County, Alabama.
