Thomas Marion Franks

Thomas Marion Franks was born September 1873, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the eldest child of William Morton Franks and Emiline Paralee "Emily" Horton.

Thomas' family moved to Searcy County, Arkansas between about 1891 and 1897. They settled in the Campbell Community, near Leslie.

Thomas married Icilean Phoebe Denton, probably in Arkansas. Icilean Denton was born about 1878, in Arkansas.

Thomas and Icilean lived at Campbell for many years. Thomas was a school teacher for many years, teaching in various schools, including the Campbell school.

The 1930 Searcy County, Arkansas census, Bear Creek Township, shows Thomas M. Franks, owned his farm, 58, married at 22, a laborer for the highway; and Pheby I., wife, 53, married at 19. Living next door was Thomas' brother, John W. Franks and his family.
