Willie Virgil McClure was born January 6, 1930, at Formosa, in Van Buren County, Arkansas, the son of Charles William McClure and Velma Mae Branham.
Virgil married Billie Willis on July 11, 1949, at Morrilton, in Conway County, Arkansas. They had one daughter. The marriage soon ended in divorce and Virgil moved to Kansas.
Virgil married Constance "Connie" Henderson on July 17, 1954, in Kansas. They settled at Augusta, Kansas, where they bought a house. Virgil worked at Bowing Aircraft Corporation for a number of years.
Virgil was a gifted musician, and formed a band in which his sons took great interest when they became old enough. Virgil and the band performed locally for quite a long time.
Virgil died June 23, 1974, at Augusta, Kansas, and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery at Augusta. Connie later married Austin Nichols.
