Wilford Clayton Baugus was born September 6, 1899, at Leslie, in Searcy County, Arkansas. He was the son of Robert Wesley "Bob" Baugus and Margaret Martha Malinda "Lindy" Horton.
Lindy Baugus and her children moved to Conway County, Arkansas, after 1906.
Wilford married Alma Ruby Stell on October 15, 1917, at Morrilton, in Conway County. Alma Stell was born March 14, 1901, at Atkins, Pope County, Arkansas, the daughter of James Tidwell Stell and Emma Strickland.
Wilford and Alma moved their family to California in the late 1930's. Alma died on January 6, 1968, at Modesto, California. She is buried in Ceres Cemetery at Modesto. Wilford later married Cora Johnson, who was the second wife of his brother-in-law, Oscar Johnson. Wilford died May 11, 1992, at Modesto and is also buried in Ceres Cemetery.
