William Listenbee "Willie" Harmon was born September 28, 1897, near Tilly in Pope County, Arkansas, the son of James Louis Harmon and Martha Jane Crow.
Willie grew up in the northeastern corner of Pope County, near the Pope, Searcy and Van Buren County lines.
Willie married Minnie Hibberts on September 15, 1922, in Searcy County, Arkansas. Minnie Hibberts was born January 10, 1899, in North Carolina, the daughter of Cornelius Bert Hibberts and Nancy Burger. Cornelius Hibberts was born about 1861, in North Carolina. Minnie's siblings included Luther Hibberts, born 1895; Ada Hibberts, born 1897; and Millie M. Hibberts, born 1902. All the children were born in North Carolina.
The 1930 Pope County, Arkansas census, Smyrna Township, shows Will L. Harmon, a farmer who rented his farm, 33; Minnie, 32; Cleburne, 6; and Ida, just over 3 years old. Living next door was Willie's brother Sherman Harmon and his family. Also living next door was Minnie's father listed as Charles B. Hibberts, 65, widowed, a farmer who rented his farm. Living nearby was Minnie's sister Millie her family.
Willie moved his family to Dalton, Georgia about 1936, where they remained.
Willie died October 13, 1973 at Dalton, Georgia. Minnie died there February 5, 1991. They are both buried at Dalton.
