William married Parley Gentry on November 1, 1854, in Tennessee. Parley Gentry was born about 1834, in Tennessee according to census.
The 1860 Anderson County, Tennessee census shows the family living in the area of the Wallace Crossroads Post Office. The census shows William Stuksberry, 31, a farmer with $1500 real property and $300 personal property; Parly, 26; Alvis, 5 and Sarah E., 11 months old. Living with the family was John Brown, 30, a laborer; William's mother, Hannah Stuksberry, 74, born in New York; and William's sister, Anna stuksberry, 35, a domestic. Living next door was William's sister and brother-in-law, Hannah and John Gilbert. Living nearby were other members of the Stooksberry family.
The 1870 Anderson County census, District 2, Wallace Cross Roads Post Office, shows William Stooksberry, 41, farmer with $1800 real property and $400 personal property; Parley, 35; Alvis, 14, a farm laborer; Sarah, 10; Rufus, 8; Hannah, 4; and Pharoah, 2 years old. Living with the family was William's sister Anna Stooksberry, 50 years old. Living next door was William's sister and brother-in-law, Hannah and John Gilbert and their family. Living next door to the Gilbert family was William's sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Samuel Robbins and their family. Other siblings and relations were living nearby.
The 1880 Anderson County census, District 2, shows William Stookesberry, 51, a farmer; Parley, 46; Sarah E., 20, Rufus, 17; Hanah J., 15; Pharoah, 11; Mary E., 9; and Martha A., 5 years old. Living with the family was William's sister, Ann, 60 years old. Living next door was William's sister and brother-in-law, Hannah and John Gilbert and their family.
We have been told that William died in 1897, in Campbell County, Tennessee and is buried in Bakers Forge Memorial Cemetery, in Campbell County.
