William Lawson Raby was born October 23, 1874, in Arkansas, the son of James Dolphus Raby and Minerva Jane George.
William married Anice A. Padgett on November 16, 1895 in Grand Saline, Van Zandt, Texas. Anice Padgett was the daughter of Chesley Padgett and Mary Tucker. They raised their family in Texas.
