William Anthony Smith was born June 17, 1887, in Conway County, Arkansas, the son of William Henry Smith and Mary Elizabeth Cargile.
William married Edna Ethelma Stell on August 7, 1912. Edna Stell was born February 26, 1894, the daughter of Dennis Q. Stell and Frances Jane Bell.
William was a farmer near Springfield, in Conway County.
William died March 31, 1973. Edna died April 8, 1984. They are buried in the Springfield Cemetery.
