William Millard McClure

William Millard McClure was born November 24, 1879, at El Paso, in White County, Arkansas, the son of William Holliway S. McClure and Nancy E. Cargile.

Millard appears on the 1880 White County, Arkansas, census, Marion Township with his family. He is listed as six months old.

We believe both of Millard's parents died prior to 1900.  We did not locate Millard on the 1900 census. 

Millard married Beatrice Maude Sutton on May 7, 1910, at Gurdon, in Clark County, Arkansas.  Maude was born December 11, 1892, in Nevada County, Arkansas, the daughter of Cicero Lumpkin Sutton and Martha Jane Sublett.   Cicero was born August 1852, in Alabama.  Martha was born March 1856, in Arkansas.  They married December 25, 1873, in Nevada County.  They were living in Nevada County in 1930.

Millard's World War I Draft Registration Card dated September 12, 1918 shows he was living in Antoine, Pike County, Arkansas at that time.  He gives his date of birth as November 24, 1882 and his nearest relative as Beatrice McClure.  His occupation is listed as a farmer.  He is described as: Height - Tall, Build - Slender, Eyes - Blue and Hair - Black. 

Millard's family appears on the 1920 Pike County, Arkansas census, living in the town of Murfreesboro.   The census shows W. M. McLure, rented, 39, a section foreman for the railroad; Beatrice, wife, 27; Conway, son, 7; Willia, daughter, 5; James, son, 2 years, 9 months and Edwin, son, 2 years, 9 months old.

We did not locate Millard and Maude in 1930. 

Millard died July 17, 1969, at Texarkana, Bowie Co, Texas. He is buried in Hill Crest Memorial Park at Texarkana. Maude died May 10, 1976, at Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas.  She is buried in Hill Crest Memorial Park with Millard.
