Last Will and Testament of William Stanfield

In the name of God Amen. I William Stanfield of Abbeville DIstrict & State of South Carolina, being afflicted in body but of sound disposing mind and memory, calling to mind my mortality, do here make my last Will and testament, hereby revoking all my former Wills.

Imprimis, I bequeath my soul to God, (in humble hopes of his mercy through Jesus Christ) and my body to the Earth. As tuching my Worldly Estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and bequeath in the following manner at the discression of my Executors.

Item, I will that my well beloved wife Sarah Stanfield do peaceably and Quietly Enjoy all my estate Both real and personal during her natural life, and then to be divided as I shall hereafter nominate, towit,

I will that fifty dollars be paid to my son John Stanfield at the discresion of my executors.

Item, I will that my negro Titus shall have the privilige of choosing his master on the following conditions, that is to say, the said person that Titus doth choose for his master (after the decease of my wife) shall pay to my executors the appraisment of said negro, appraised by two disinterested persons- which said money to be Equally divided amongst the after named legetees.

Item, I will that all the ballance of my estate both real and personal be equally divided between the after named Legetees, Towit, Robert Stanfield, Jane Hitt, Peggy Miles and Milly Link.

Item I give to Thomas Link five shillings to be paid after the decease of my beloved wife Sarah Stanfield, at the discrecion of my executors-

And I do hereby disallow, revoke, disanull all and singular every other form of forms, wills and bequeaths by me in any manner or case before mentioned. Ratifying this and no other, to be my last will and testament; and I do hereby nominate, appoint and constitute my trusty firends Peter Hitt and James Miles (Edward Collin and Joshua Hill crossed out) my Executors to this my last will & testament- In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this ninth day of July One thousand Eight hundred and five.
