William T. Cypert was born December 31, 1805, in Overton County, Tennessee, the son of Francis Cypert II and Abigail Johnson.
William married Prudence (last name unknown) on February 27, 1825, in Wayne County, Tennessee.
William and Prudence moved from Wayne County, to Mississippi, between 1836 and 1838. The family appears on the 1850 Tishomingo County, census. In the early 1850's William moved his family to Arkansas. They settled near Marshall, in Searcy County. It is possible they traveled with the Cypert, Horton, Woody and other families that moved to Arkansas in the fall of 1851.
William died March 30, 1880, in Searcy County.
