John Youngblood Horton was born October 19, 1863, at Waynesboro, in Wayne County, Tennessee. He was the youngest child of James Henry Horton and Lydia Youngblood.
John married Helen Mar George on May 14, 1885, at Vernon, in Hickman County, Tennessee. Helen Mar George was born December 26, 1864, at Vernon, the daughter of Solomon Jones George and Sarah Gravitt.
John and Helen moved to Missouri around 1900. John died October 16, 1938, at Mexico, Audrain County, Missouri. Helen died there January 25, 1942.
