Abraham Abel Crow was born about 1756, in Orange County, North Carolina, the son of James Crow and Grace Denson.
Abel married Sarah (last name unknown) prior to 1784, probably in Chatham County, North Carolina. Sarah was born in North Carolina.
Abel is listed in his father's will, which was signed in 1792, to receive 10 shillings and a share of the money derived from the sale of part of the estate.
The 1800 Chatham County census shows Abel, age 26-45, with three males under the age of 10; one female age 16-26, and two females under the age of 10 years.
Abel moved his family to Roane County, Tennessee, around 1810.
Abel died in Roane County before March 1833. Sarah died there about 1845.
