Della R. Branham

Della R. Branham was born at Formosa, in Van Buren County, Arkansas.     She was the daughter of James William Branham and Gertie Gloden.

Della was not quite 3 years old on the 1920 Searcy County, Arkansas census.     She was 13 on the 1930 Van Buren County census.

Della married Benjamin Franklin Ramsey on October 15, 1934, in Conway County, Arkansas.     Ben Ramsey was born April 26, 1894, at Appleton, Arkansas.    He was the son of Daniel Washington Ramsey and Laura Belle (last name unknown).

Daniel Ramsey was born April 1868, in Arkansas.     Laura Bell was born March 1871, in Mississippi and died 1956, in Conway County, Arkansas.    She is buried in Elmwood Cemetery at Morrilton, in Conway County.

Dan and Laura appear on the 1900 Conway County, Arkansas census with four of their children, and on the 1910 Comanche County, Oklahoma census with all seven of their children.     Dan and Laura's children were: (1) Robert D. Ramsey, b. Apr 20, 1890, AR; d. June 30, 1949, Conway Co; bur. Elmwood Cem, Morrilton;     (2) Paire E. Ramsey, b. Oct 1891, AR;    (3) Benjamin Franklin Ramsey, b. Apr 1894, AR;    (4) Albert Scarler Ramsey, b. Aug 31, 1898, AR; d. Oct 9, 1949, Conway Co; bur. Elmwood Cem, Morrilton;    (5) Walsie E. Ramsey, b. abt 1902, TX;     (6) Wyley A. Ramsey, b. abt 1906, TX; and    (7) John L. Ramsey, b. abt 1908, OK..    The 1910 census shows that Laura Bell had given birth to 8 children, but only 7 were living.

Ben Ramsey was first married to Gracie Wright about 1916.     Gracie died before 1918.

Ben then married Flora Howell, daughter of Joshua Howell and Sarah Ann Arenna "Renie" Branham, in 1919.     Flora died in childbirth on December 27, 1920, in Arkansas County, Arkansas.     The baby died with her.   

Ben's former mother-in-law, Renie Howell, lived with Ben after the death of her husband, Josh Howell, in 1921.     Renie was still living with Ben when he married Della in 1934.

Ben and Della lived at Morrilton, in Conway County, Arkansas, where they owned and operated a grocery store for a short time in the mid to late 1940's.     The store was located on Highway 64 west of Morrilton.    In the 1980's a Freewill Baptist Church was built on the site where the old store once stood.     Renie Howell continued living with the Ben and Della after their marriage.    Della was Renie's niece, and a cousin to Flora.

In November 1952, Ben, Della and Renie moved to Campbell, Missouri.     Renie lived with the couple for a time after they moved to Campbell, before going to a nursing home.     Renie died in 1967, at Campbell, and is buried in Tucker Cemetery near Campbell.

Ben died March 14, 1976, at Campbell, and is buried there in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Della moved back to Morrilton, in Conway County, after Ben's death.

She married Onva Williams on January 1, 1984, at Morrilton.    Onva Williams was born December 11, 1915, at Lexington, Arkansas.    He was the son of William R. Williams and Belle Westerman.

Onva was first married to Dosia ____, who was born Oct 15, 1915 and died June 24, 1982 at Morrilton.     She is buried in Elmwood Cemetery at Morrilton.

Onva died February 24, 1996, at Morrilton, and is buried beside Dosia in Elmwood Cemetery at Morrilton.

Della died May 21, 2005, at Perryville, Arkansas.     She is also buried beside Onva in Elmwood Cemetery.

  Della had no children.
