Edna Esther Horton

Edna Esther Horton was born April 30, 1919, near Glendale, on Fox Creek, in Douglas County, Missouri. She was the youngest child of Will Horton and Effie Harmon. Because of a problem in obtaining a delayed birth certificate, her place of birth was incorrectly shown as Conway County, Arkansas.

Edna married Marion Houston Keith on August 29, 1946, in Conway County. Houston Keith was born April 16, 1923, in Conway County, Arkansas, the son of John Lee Keith and Ellen Flowers. Houston was a farmer.

Edna and Houston lived at Sunny Side, near Center Ridge in Conway County, from the time they married until about 1955. At that time they moved to Hill Creek, where they lived in a log house until about 1960. They moved to Kenwood for a few years, then lived at Solgohachia until about 1974, when they returned to Kenwood. Edna always had poor health, and for several years before her death, she was almost an invalid.

Edna died January 12, 1984, and is buried in Friendship Cemetery near Solgohachia, in Conway County. Houston died July 17, 2001 and is buried in Friendship Cemetery.

Edna and Houston had no children.
