John Lee Keith was born February 15, 1881, in Arkansas, the son of John Keith and Sarah Harwood.
The 1900 Conway County, Arkansas census, Lick Mountain Township, shows 17 year old Lee with his parents and siblings.
Lee married Elzonia A. "Ellen" Flowers on November 7, 1902, in Conway County. Ellen Flowers was born March 4, 1883, in Conway County, the daughter of Henry E. Flowers and Elizabeth Jane Sweeden.
The 1900 Conway County census, Lick Mountain Township, shows 16 year old Elzonia with her widowed mother and her siblings, living near the family of John and Sarah Keith.
The 1910 Conway County census shows the family living near the Dover Road in Lick Mountain Township. The census shows John L. Keith, 27, married 8 years, a farmer who rented his farm; Elzona, wife, 26, had given birth to 2 children; Seretha A., daughter, 8; and Willie, son, 3 years old. Living with the family was Jane Flowers, mother-in-law, widowed.
The 1930 Conway County census, Bird Township, shows Lee W. Keith, owned his farm, 48, 21 when he married; Ellen, 47, 20 when she married; and Houston, 7 years old. Living next door was the family of Ellen's sister Nancy Flowers Holmes.
Lee died August 1, 1951 in Conway County. Ellen died there February 23, 1953. They are buried in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Center Ridge in Conway County.
