James Marion Abel was born August 10, 1885, probably in Keokuk County, Iowa, the son of Christopher Columbus Abel and Elizabeth Emiline Kirby.
James married Blanche Amelia Bush, who was born March 10, 1892, in Iowa, the daughter of Louis Edwin Bush and Annie H. Adamson.
James and Blanche had at least four children. They divorced and James moved to Arkansas.
Blanche later married E. F. Rohren. Blanche died February 6, 1941 and is buried in Winfield-Scott Cemetery at Winfield, in Henry County, Iowa.
James died January 1, 1970, at Casa, in Perry County, Arkansas. He is buried in Liberty Cemetery near Adona, Perry County, Arkansas.
