Joseph Weatherford was born in 1807, in North Carolina, the son of William Weatherford and Margaret Ann Polk.
William and Margaret moved their family from North Carolina to Tennessee prior to 1815. They settled at Pinhook, now called Lutts, in Wayne County, Tennessee.
The 1820 Wayne County census shows Joseph as a male 10-16 years of age living with his parents.
Joseph married Nancy (last name unknown) about 1827. Nancy was born about 1809, in North Carolina.
Joseph died between 1860 and 1870.
