Lawrence Sypert

Lawrence Sypert was born March 4, 1789, in Chatham County, North Carolina, the son of Thomas Sypert and Mary Lassater.

Thomas Sypert moved his family to Wilson County, Tennessee, about 1796.

Lawrence married Mary "Polly" Lambeth on March 5, 1812, in Wilson County.

Lawrence was a Private in 2nd Regiment of the Volunteer Mounted Gunmen in the War of 1812. He fought in the Battle of New Orleans in 1812. In 1814 and 1815, Lawrence was a Private in the Tennessee Militia.

Lawrence attended Cumberland University, School of Law and practiced law in Lebanon, Wilson County, Tennessee, for many years.
