Lucinda A. Stanfield was born November 13, 1811, in Abbeville District, South Carolina, the daughter of William "Billy" Stanfield and Mary (last name unknown).
Lucinda married Robertson Talley on March 10, 1831, in Wayne County, Tennessee. Robertson Talley was born in 1813, in North Carolina, the son of George Talley and Lucy McDaniel.
The 1860 Wayne County census, 8th Civil District, shows R. Tally, 46, a farmer with $100 personal property; Lucinda, 48; Mary Ann, 22; Elizabeth, 20; and Sarah, 16 years old.
Robertson and Lucinda moved their family to Arkansas, along with Lucinda's sister, Betsy Ann (Stanfield) Pierce and her family.
Robertson Talley died June 13, 1864, at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, from small pox.
An account given by Ruth Parker Dalton in the book "Wayne Co., TN, 1817-1995 History & Families" states that, "in 1878, the Talley family and the Pierce family, traveled by wagon, pulled by oxen, back to Wayne County, Tennessee, to visit their relatives for about a month, then returned to their homes in Arkansas and never returned to Wayne County again".
Lucinda died April 25, 1889, in Stone County, Arkansas.
