Lunie Elsie Leoah Horton was born July 18, 1906, in Pope County, Arkansas, the eldest child of Will Horton and Effie Harmon.
Lunie married Ausbie Haywood Nichols on August 21, 1930, in Conway County, Arkansas. Ausbie Nichols was born August 26, 1908, at Center Ridge, in Conway County, the son of Taylor Eugene Nichols and Annie Belle Carroll.
Ausbie and Lunie lived in Conway County, where Ausbie farmed, until the mid to late 1940's. At that time they bought a house on Stewart Road near Little Rock, in Pulaski County, Arkansas, where they lived for many years.
Ausbie was a farmer, an auto mechanic, and a fine carpenter. Lunie loved to tend her vegetable garden and always had beautiful flower gardens in both her yard and her vegetable garden.
In 1973 they sold their house near Little Rock and bought a house at Morrilton just off Highway 113. They lived there until their deaths.
Lunie died July 31, 1980, at Morrilton, and is buried in Friendship Cemetery near Solgohachia, in Conway County. Ausbie died at Morrilton on November 15, 1980. He is buried beside Lunie in Friendship Cemetery.
They had no children.
