The 1860 Conway County census shows ten-month old Mary living with her family in Union Township near Springfield.
The 1870 Conway County, Union Township census lists Mary as twelve years old.
Mary married William Henry Smith on July 30, 1876, in Conway County. William Smith was born January 27, 1853 in Phillips County, Arkansas, the son of Dr. Jonas Dudley Smith and Viola L. Clindening.
William owned a grocery store for a few years, then turned his attention to farming.
Mary died January 15, 1920, in Conway County. William died March 3, 1938, in Conway County. They are buried in the Springfield Cemetery.
