Mary Eliza Sypert was born February 2, 1828, at Lebanon, in Wilson County, Tennessee, the daughter of Hardy Sanders Sypert and Ann (Rogers) Donelson.
Mary married John Hutchinson Russell on November 27, 1853, in Lafayette, Kentucky. John was her second husband. The name of her first husband is not known. It is said she and her first husband had a child, but we have no record of that child. This was a second marriage for John also. He had children from his first marriage. John Russell was born November 8, 1815, in Danville, Pennsylvania.
John died October 3, 1899, in Canton, Kansas. Mary died there on May 31, 1915.
