Nathaniel Horton was born about 1837, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of Isaac Horton, Jr. and Mary Watts.
Nathaniel married Martha Jane Shipman at Wiley's Cove, at Leslie, Searcy County, Arkansas. Martha Shipman was born 1839, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of John Shipman and Susannah Sarah Cypert.
Nathaniel died about 1862, in Arkansas, and is buried in the National Cemetery at Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Martha died in Independence County, Arkansas.
