She immigrated with her parents to America in 1852 and became a naturalized citizen in 1871, according to census records.

The census shows Paul, 55, born in Germany; Catherine, 49, born in Germany; Otto, 21, born in Kansas; John, 16, born in New York; Paul, 14, born in New York; and Emma, 12, born in Kansas.
Paul moved his family to Iowa prior to 1907. The 1910 Muscatine County census shows the family living in the City of Muscatine. The census shows Paul, 65, married one time for 40 years, born in Germany, father and mother born in Germany, railroad worker; Catherine, 60, married one time for 40 years, had given birth to 12 children, 5 of them still living, born in Germany, father and mother born in Germany; daughter Annie (last name unreadable), 33, married one time for 12 years, had given birth to 4 children, 3 still living, born in New York; son Otto, 31, single, born in Kansas; son John, 26, single, born in New York; and Paul, 24, single, born in New York. The family was living next door to James Alfred Wren and his family. Living on the other side of James Wren was their daughter Emma and her husband John C. Wren, who was the son of James Alfred Wren. Emma is shown to be 22, married one time for 3 years, had given birth to 1 child, but had 0 children living, born in Kentucky.
The 1920 Muscatine County census shows Paul, 70, immigrated in 1852, naturalized in 1871; Katherine, 69, immigrated in 1852, naturalized in 1871; and Otto, 42, single, born in New York.
Katherine died in 1922, at Muscatine. Paul died there in 1925.
