Oliver Schuyler Harmon was born April 1, 1885, near Cave City, in Independence County, Arkansas, the son of James Louis Harmon and Martha Jane Crow.
Schuyler was only about five years old when his family moved to near Tilly in Pope County, Arkansas, where Schuyler grew up.
Schuyler married Sarah Ann Bruce on September 28, 1904, in Searcy County, Arkansas. Sarah Ann Bruce was born in 1888, the daughter of J. Alfred Bruce and Cicero "Sis" Bridges. Sarah Ann was about 16 years old when she married Schuyler.
For a time Schuyler and Sarah Ann lived near Tilly. They also lived just across the county line in Van Buren County, Arkansas, for a time. Schuyler was a farmer.
Sarah Ann died June 23, 1934, and is buried in Archie Valley Cemetery, east of Tilly. Sarah Ann and Schuyler had at least 11 children, but only 5 lived beyond infancy.
Schuyler married Mrs. Helen Chadwick on April 25, 1936, in Van Buren County. Helen Chadwick was a widow with five grown children when they married. Her children were Roy Chadwick who married Mary Ledbetter and settled at Solgohachia, in Conway County, Arkansas; Troy Chadwick; Loften Chadwick; Glen Chadwick; and Lucy Chadwick, the youngest child, who married Wilburn Walker and settled near the Searcy and Van Buren County line.
Schuyler died May 17, 1959 and is buried beside Sarah Ann in Archie Valley Cemetery.
Helen died March 25, 1974 and is buried at Holly Mountain, northeast of Clinton, in Van Buren County. Schuyler and Helen had no children.
