Thursa Jane Bridgman was born March 6, 1846, in Campbell County, Tennessee, the daughter of William Calvin Bridgman and Matilda Prock.
Thursa's family moved to Kentucky prior to 1848 and settled in Wayne County.
Thursa married Abner Morgan on March 4, 1869, at Monticello, in Wayne County, Kentucky. Abner Morgan was born July 5, 1851, in Wayne County, Kentucky, the son of John Randolph "Randal" Morgan and his second wife, Millie Privett (b. abt 1830, NC).
Randal Morgan was born about 1800, in Tennessee and died February 3, 1874, in Wayne County, Kentucky. He first married Mary Millsap in 1824, in Tennessee. Mary Millsap was born about 1805 and died in 1848, in Wayne County. The couple had several children including: (1) Sinah Morgan, b. 1825, TN; (2) Burnetta Jane Morgan, b. 1826, KY; (3) Lucinda Morgan, b. 1830, KY; (4) Mary Polly A. Morgan, b. 1832, KY; (5) William Perry Morgan, b. 1834, KY; (6) Thursey Morgan, b. Mar 1836, KY; (7) Tillman Morgan, b. Mar 1836, KY; (8) Granville Morgan, b. 1838, KY; (9) Julia A. Morgan, b. 1838, KY; (10) Annie Morgan, b. 1841, KY; (11) Byrd Morgan, b. 1843, KY; (12) Milton Morgan, b. 1847, KY; (13) Jasper Morgan, b. Mar 1848, KY and (14) Emerson Morgan, b. Mar 1848, KY; d. bef 1860.
Randal Morgan married his second wife, Millie Privett, in 1849. They had far fewer children. Their children included: (1) Abner Morgan, b. July 1851, KY; (2) Nathan Morgan, b. July 1855, KY and (3) Millie Morgan, b. abt 1863, KY.
The 1870 Wayne County, Kentucky census shows Abner Morgan, 21, farmer, $110 personal property; Jane, 25 and Randal, 6 months old, born in December. Listed next to them were Abner's parents, Randal Morgan, 65, farmer, $300 real property, $500 personal property; Milly, 39; Nathan, 13, farm laborer and Milly, 7 years old.
The 1880 Wayne County census shows Abner Morgan, 25, farmer; Thursy, 33, wife; Johny, 10, son; Martha, 8, daughter; Mary, 8, daughter; Judy, 7, daughter; Lucinda, 6, daughter; Calvin, 3, son and Cyvanis W., 2 months, son.
Thursa Jane was named in her father's will, dated August 5, 1896.
The 1900 Wayne County census shows Abner Morgan, date of birth unknown, 52, married 31 years, a farmer who owned his farm; Thirsa J., wife, born Mar 1846, 54, had given birth to 11 children, 9 children were still living; Silas, son, born Mar 1881, 19, farm laborer; Charlott, daughter, born Nov 1883, 16; Matilda, daughter, born Sept 1886, 13 and Ethel, daughter, born Oct 1891, 8 years old.
Abner died June 9, 1918, in Wayne County. Thursa died there on March 24, 1922. They are buried in Morgan Cemetery, in Wayne County.
