William Calvin appears on the 1870 and 1880 Walker County census at home with his family.
William Calvin married Augusta Clemmons "Gussie" Lamb on December 17, 1883, in Walker County, Georgia. Gussie Lamb was born about 1862, in Kenton County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Edward A. Lamb and Nancy G. White.
Edward Lamb, born November 1831, in Maryland, married Nancy White on August 15, 1852, in Kenton County, Kentucky. Nancy was born December 1832, in Kenton County. Their children included: (1) George Milton Lamb, b. abt 1854; (2) Lewis P. Lamb, b. abt 1856; (3) Cassandra Lamb, b. abt 1859; (4) Augusta Clemmons "Gussie" Lamb, b. abt 1862; (5) Robert E. Lamb, b. abt 1866 and (6) William S. Lamb, b. Feb 1870.
Gussie died in 1888, in Georgia. She and William had one chilld.
William Calvin then married Emma Frances "Fannie" Morgan on February 2, 1890, in Georgia. Fannie Morgan was born September 22, 1871, in Wilson County, Georgia, the daughter of James J. Morgan (b. 1840, GA) and Jane (last name unknown - b. abt 1854, GA).
About 1898, the familly moved to Alabama. The 1900 Madison County, Alabama census shows William H. Bridgeman, born Mar 1862, 38, married 10 years, a farmer who owned his farm; Emma, wife, born Sept 1871, 28, had given birth to 6 children, 5 children were still living; Clarence, son, born Apr 1891, 9; Lonza, son, born Aug 1892, 7; Willie, son, born Aug 1895, 4; Freddie, son, born June 1897, 2, in Georgia and John, son, born Oct 1899, 7 months, born in Alabama.
The 1910 Madison County census shows William Bridgman, 48, married 2 times, married 20 years; Fannie, wife, 38, had given birth to 11 children, 10 children were still living; Clarence, son, 19, farm laborer on home farm; Alonzo, son, 17, born in Georgia, farm laborer on home farm; Will, son, 14, born in Alabama, farm laborer on home farm; Fred, son, 12, farm laborer on home farm; John, son, 11, farm laborer on home farm; Gussie, daughter, 8; Ruby, daughter, 6; Audry, daughter, 5; Grady, son, 3 and Morgan, son, 2 years old.
William Calvin died October 6, 1911, probably in Alabama. Fannie died before 1920, probably in Alabama.
After Fannie's death the children scattered. The 1920 census shows that the 6 youngest children were sent to Odd Fellows Orphans Home, located 1 1/2 miles north of Cullman, Alabama.
