William James Paceley

William James Paceley was born February 26, 1851, in Hamilton County, Ohio, the son of Benjamin F. Paceley and Elzira Parmer.

William's family moved from Ohio to Indiana about 1865. The family settled in Spencer County in the 1870's.

William married Amelia Cline on February 23, 1873, in Indiana. Amelia Cline was born July 7, 1853, in Monroe County, Ohio, the daughter of Peter Cline and Dorcas Brown. Amelia's sister Elizabeth Jane Cline married William's brother Horace Edward Paceley.

The 1880 Spencer County, Indiana census, Huff Township, shows William Pasley, 29, a farm laborer; Emelia, wife, 26; B. F., son, 5; R. M., son, 4; Charles E., son, 2; and William D., son, 1 month old. Living next door was the family of Peter and Dorcas Cline.

Amelia married George Harris about 1900, probably in Spencer County. George Harris was born January 1863, in Indiana according to census.

The 1900 Spencer County census, Ohio Township, shows George Harris, 37, born January 1863, married 3 months; a farmer who owned his farm; Amelia, wife, 46, born July 1853, had given birth to no children with present husband; Charley Pacley, son to wife, 22, born December 1877, a farmer; and George A. Pacley, son to wife, 16, born April 1886, a farmer.
