Charles Malone Thompson

Charles Malone Thompson was born April 23, 1828, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of Zachariah Thompson and Charity Cypert.

Charles married Edna Paulk on November 8, 1849, in Wayne County. Edna Paulk was born June 30, 1832, in Wayne County, the daughter of Jason Paulk and Mahala Thornton. Mahala Thornton was the daughter of Revolutionary War soldier Josiah Thornton and his wife Sarah.

Charles was a civilian scout for the Union Army during the Civil War. He served in the Internal Revenue Department from 1865 until 1867. Charles also was Wayne County surveyor for several terms. Charles also farmed on Rayburn Creek in Wayne County.

Edna died March 13, 1915, in Wayne County. Charles died there on March 8, 1926. They are buried on their farm on Rayburn Creek.
