Our grandfather Earl Louis Bush was born June 2, 1893, at Marshalltown, in Marshall County, Iowa. He was the son of Louis Edwin Bush and Annie H. Margaret Adamson.
The 1900 Louisa County, Iowa census shows Earl, age 6, living with his parents and siblings in the household of his grandparents, William and Rebeca (Maiden) Adamson.
Earl married our grandmother Mary Myrtle Abel on October 11, 1911, in Iowa. Mary Myrtle Abel was born June 28, 1893, at Ollie, in Keokuk County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Christopher Columbus Abel and Elizabeth Emiline Kirby.
Earl and Mary raised their family in Iowa. The 1930 Louisa County census, Concord Township, shows Earl L. Bush, 36; Mary M., 36; L. Lona, 17; Edgar E., 15; Vera, 12; Walter C., 11; Henry E., 6; and Elizabeth A., 3 years old.
The family moved to Missouri several years later.
Earl died at Rolla, Missouri on June 3, 1971. Mary died at St. James Missouri on August 19, 1981. They are both buried in Winfield-Scott Cemetery at Winfield, in Henry County, Iowa.
