Frank G. Gloden

Frank G. Gloden was born August 8, 1914, at Leslie, Searcy County, Arkansas.     He was the son of William Franklin Gloden and Mandy Jane Branham.

The 1920 Searcy County census shows the family living in the Town of Leslie, in Wiley's Cove Township.     Frank was 5-years old on the census.   

The 1930 Searcy County census, Wiley's Cove Township, shows 16 year old Frank living at home with his parents and his sister Lillian Campbell. 

Frank married Mamie Elen Garner on November 19, 1938, at Leslie.     Mamie Garner was born September 30, 1917, at Marshall, Searcy County, Arkansas.   She was the daughter of Thomas Asbury Garner and Letha Mary Horton.    

In 1940, Frank and Mamie were living in Scott County, Arkansas.    The census shows Frank G. Gloden, owned, 25, family lived in same place Apr 1, 1935, a farmer; Mamie E., wife, 22; Franklin M., daughter, 7-months; and Mandy Gloden, mother, 61, widow.  

Frank Gloden served in the Navy as a Carpenter's Mate Third Class, during World War II.     He enlisted June 15, 1944, and was honorably discharged at Memphis, Tennessee, on November 20, 1945.

Frank and Mamie had six children born on their farm at Leslie.    Frank and Mamie divorced after the children were grown.     Frank then married Christine Smith and then Lela Hutchinson.

Mamie died June 2, 1980, at Vendor, in Newton County, Arkansas.     Frank died December 4, 1996, at Green Forest, in Carroll County, Arkansas.    Frank is buried in Glenwood Cemetery.
