Henry E. Flowers was born about 1849, in Arkansas, the son of Jacob Marion Flowers and Eliza Jane Duron.
The 1850 Pope County, Arkansas census shows 1 year old Henry E. with his parents and older sister, Elizabeth.
Henry married Elizabeth Jane "Janie" Sweeden, probably in Pope County. Elizabeth Sweeden was born May 1852, in Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas Sweeden and Emmaline Spray (Sprague).
The 1880 Conway County, Arkansas census, Lick Mountain Township, shows Henry E. Flowers, 32, a farm worker; Elizabeth Jane, wife, 30; Jacob M., son, 12; Lewis J., son, 9; John H., son, 6; Robert A., son, 3; and Infant, son, 1 month old.
Henry died in Conway County prior to 1900. He is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Center Ridge, in Conway County.
The 1900 Conway County census, Lick Mountain Township, shows Elizabeth Flowers, 48, born May 1852, a widow, had given birth to 7 children, 7 children still living, rented her house; Robert A., son, 22, born April 1878, a farm laborer; Columbus, son, 18, born February 1882, a farm laborer; Elzonia, daughter, 16, born March 1884; and Nancy M., daughter, 11, born January 1889.
Elizabeth died December 22, 1918, in Conway County. She is buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
