Joel Wilson Weatherford, Jr. was born July 15, 1829, in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of Joel Wilson Weatherford and Nancy Beckham.
Joel married Sarah Elizabeth Franks. Sarah Franks was born August 22, 1839, in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of Jackson John Franks and Elizabeth Gallimore.
Sarah died October 17, 1918, in Wayne County. Joel died there on July 18, 1908. Joel and Sarah are buried in Pinhook Cemetery, at Lutts, Wayne County, Tennessee.
