Lorenzo Dow Wright

Lorenzo Dow Wright was born about 1811, in Lawrence County, Tennessee, the son of Perrin M. Wright and Mary Ann Horton.

Lorenzo married Elizabeth Lucinda Hill on May 12, 1831, at Lawrenceburg, in Lawrence County. (One source indicates that Lorenzo was married a second time to another Elizabeth.)

Lorenzo and his brother Bunyun moved their families to Wayne County, Tennessee, about 1850.

The 1860 Wayne County, Tennessee census shows the family living in the 8th Civil District. The census shows L. D. Wright, 49, $200 personal property; Elizabeth, 46; Arkada, 17; James J., 15, a laborer; Francis M., 13; Nancy, 11; and George, 8 years old. Living next door was son John E. Wright and his wife.
