Mary Brown Bridgman was born November 3, 1808, in Wythe County, Virginia. She was the daughter of William Bridgman and Mariam Brown. (Mary's name may have been Mariam, after her mother.)
Mary's father moved his family to Campbell County, Tennessee, between 1813 and 1815.
Mary married Sampson David in 1829, in Campbell County, Tennessee.
Sampson David was born November 19, 1806, in Tennessee, the son of James David and Elizabeth Reeves. James David was born March 20, 1778, in Virginia and died June 10, 1878, in Tennessee. He was the son of George David (born about 1723, in Wales; died in Tennessee) and Mary Morgan (born about 1725, in Pennsylvania and died in Tennessee). (James David was a brother to Sampson David who married (Mary's aunt) Martha Bridgman.) Elizabeth Reeves was born May 10, 1783, in South Carolina and died 1863, in Tennessee.
Children of James David and Elizabeth Reeves included: (1) George David, b. 1802, TN; (2) William Dickson David, b. 1804, TN; (3) Sampson David, b. 1806, TN; (4) Seth David, b. 1808, TN; (5) Sophia David, b. 1814, TN; (6) Felix Robertson David, b. 1817, TN and (7) Timothy Reeves David, b. 1820, TN.

Sampson David was the Administrator of the Estate of Mary's father William Bridgman in 1840.

In the early 1860's several members of both the David, Stanfield and Bridgman families migrated to Arkansas. We believe Sampson and Mary were among them. Their daughter Eliza married about 1865 in Arkansas.
Sampson David died October 1, 1868, probably in Arkansas. Mary died two days later on October 3, 1868.
