(I have not researched the Groom family, but am sharing the information I have regarding this family.)
Robert Fulton Groom was born November 13, 1881, in Tennessee, the son of James T. Groom and Sarah Frances "Fannie" (last name unknown).
The 1880 Gibson County, Tennessee census, shows the Groom family living in Yorkville Township. The Groom family moved from Tennessee to Arkansas between 1895 and 1900. They settled in Conway County, Arkansas prior to the 1900 census.
The 1900 Conway County census, Washington Township, shows 8 year old Robert with his parents and siblings.
Robert married Susan Reddeck in Conway County. Susan "Susie" Reddeck was born March 8, 1882.
Robert was a farmer. He and Susie raised their children in Conway County.
The 1920 Conway County census shows the family living near the Solgohachia and Plumerville Road in Washington Township. The census shows Robert Groom, 39, a farmer who owned his farm; Susie M., wife, 37; Bessie E., daughter, 16; Ethel L., daughter, 14; Cessel, son, 10; Ellen, daughter, 5; and Floy M., daughter, 2 years, 5 months old.
The 1930 Conway County census, Washington Township, shows Robert F. Groom, owned his farm worth $1500, 48, married at 21; Susan Metta, 48, married at 20; Carl, 20; Ellon Irene, 15; Floy Maye, 12; and Earl, 9 years old. Living with the family was daughter Lee E. Faulkner, 24, widowed; and her daughter Ruth Merle Faulkner, 1 year and 9 months old. Living next door was Robert's father James T. Groom and family.
Susan died February 2, 1962 and is buried in Friendship Cemetery near Solgohachia in Conway County. Robert died June 17, 1966 and is buried in Friendship Cemetery.
