Willie Ervin Felkins was born October 18, 1931, in Johnson County, Arkansas, the son of Henley J. Felkins. Willie grew up in Johnson County.
Willie joined the Arkansas State Police and served as a state trooper for a number of years.
Willie married prior to 1954 and had two sons, Billie Felkins and Willie Felkins.
On June 2, 1956, Willie married Elizabeth Annie "Betty" Bush, in Mississippi. Elizabeth Annie Bush was born January 5, 1927, at Wayland, in Henry County, Iowa, the daughter of Earl Louis Bush and Mary Myrtle Abel. Betty was first married to Robert Laverne Wren, by whom she had six children.
Willie was injured in a traffic accident in Missouri on October 11, 1957. The accident left him paralized from the waist down.
Willie and Betty moved to Morrilton, in Conway County, Arkansas soon after his accident. Betty was a licensed nurse and cared for him at home as long as she was able.
Willie died at Morrilton on September 19, 1963, at the age of 31 years. He is buried in Woodland Cemetery, at Clarksville, in Johnson County, Arkansas beside his father.
Willie and Betty had no children.
