William Francis George was born March 11, 1854, in Izard County, Arkansas, the son of James Sevier George and Margaret J. Stewart. He was called "Frank".
William married Mary Ann Shipman about 1873, in Arkansas.
Mary Ann Shipman was born May 23, 1852, in Kentucky, the daughter of Matthew Shipman and Dorthena M. E. "Thina" Thompson. Thina's second husband was Newton Anderson Cypert, son of John William Cypert and Nancy Anderson. John Cypert was the son of Francis Cypert, Jr. and Abigail Johnson and the grandson of Francis Scypeart and Charity Townsend.
William and Mary Ann had two sons. They divorced June 25, 1879.
Mary Ann and her two sons were living with her mother and step-father, Anderson and Thina Cypert, in Stone County at the time of the 1880 census. The census shows Mary A. Shipman, 28, step-daughter, divorced; Francis M. George, 6, step-grandson and Anderson N. George, 4, step-grandson.
William married Mary Ellen Rebecca Taylor on February 12, 1885, in Stone County, Arkansas. Mary Ellen Taylor was born January 15, 1868, in Randolph County, Arkansas, the daughter of George Washington Taylor and Sarah Emaline Cypert.
About 1896, William and Mary Ellen moved their family to Indian Territory.
The 1900 census shows the family living in Township 8 North, Range 27 East, in the Choctaw Nation of the Indian Territory. The census shows William F. George, 45, married 15 years; Mary E., wife, 32, had given birth to 7 children, 6 children still living; Little B., son, 14; William A., son, 9; Clinton H., son, 8; Lovie A., daughter, 5; Eula A., daughter, 3, and Ella L., daughter, 6 months old.
The 1910 census shows the family living in Antlers Township of Pushmataha County, Oklahoma. The census shows William George, 56, married 3 times, a farmer who rented his farm; Mary, wife, 42, married 1 time, had given birth to 7 children, 6 children still living; Clinton, son, 18, a farm hand; Lovie, daughter, 15; Eulah, daughter, 12 and Ella, daughter, 10 years old.
William died May 19, 1916, at Zoe, in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. Mary Ellen died July 4, 1953, at Tulsa, in Tulsa County, Oklahoma. She is buried at Tulsa.
